Meet Our Doctors:Dr. James FerrellDr. Ferrell graduated with honors from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelors degree in Engineering. After practicing for eight years in defense and private industry, he returned to Murray State University for his Pre-Med requirements. In 2001, he graduated with a Doctor of Optometry from the UAB School of Optometry.
As a primary eye care physician, he enjoys managing various eye conditions such as glaucoma, allergies, infections, cataracts, dry eye, foreign bodies and other eye disorders. For patients who need glasses or contacts he strives to provide the highest quality, latest technology products. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and other organizations. He is pleased to work with a fantastic staff that provides high quality overall care. Dr. Ferrell enjoys mission work locally, in Central America, and elsewhere through his church. He accepts donated glasses for these efforts. |
In his spare time he enjoys hiking, biking, and spending time with his family.

Dr. Mary Beth Chenault graduated Cum Laude, with honors, from Mississippi University for Women, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry. While at UAB, she enjoyed volunteering in the Birmingham community and elsewhere. Dr. Chenault is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Alabama Optometric Association, the North Alabama Optometric Society and the UAB School of Optometry Alumni Association.
As a primary eye care physician, Dr. Chenault carefully observes the structures of the eye in order to diagnose and treat a wide variety of disease. She closely manages patients with common conditions like diabetes, hypertension, cataracts, macular degeneration, glaucoma, nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, binocular vision disorders, and countless other ocular and systemic diseases. She also provides patients with the latest in contact lens and eye wear technology, and works closely with the optical staff to ensure that your glasses provide maximum comfort and vision in your daily life. Dr. Chenault enjoys participating in the eye care of patients of all ages and with varying degrees of visual capabilities. Dr. Chenault is married and lives in the Huntsville area. She is an avid reader and also enjoys running, traveling, and spending time with her family. |
