What makes an eye exam comprehensive? 

  •  Complete Medical and Eye History, including notations of current medications
  •  Measurement of Visual Acuity
  •  Digital Retinal (inside eye) Photography
  •  Peripheral Vision (Visual Field) testing
  •  Prescriptions for Glasses, Contacts, or Medications as necessary
  •  Intraocular Pressure Reading 
  •  Pupil Dilation
  •  Cover Tests to check eye alignment
  •  Slit Lamp Examination to look at the structures of your eye under high magnification
  •  Patient Education about diagnosed eye conditions and best management practices
In addition, other tests may be ordered based on a patient's medical needs:
  •  Nerve Fiber Analysis for glaucoma patients using OCT. 
  •  Macula Edema Testing for diabetics and macular degeneration patients  using OCT. 
  •  Color Blindness testing
  •  Ocular Motility 
  •  Cornea Ultrasound using OCT
  •  Humphrey Visual Field testing for glaucoma and other patients
  •  Referrals as needed related to hypertension, diabetes, or other suspected diseases found during the eye exam
  •  Co-management of LASIK patients with the Huntsville Laser Center
  •  Co-management of cataract patients
  •  Referrals to retinal specialists if needed
  •  Corneal mapping for contact lens fitting purposes 
  •  We offer a variety of contact lenses,  glasses, and sunglasses that will compliment your individual lifestyle, from children to adults.
